Fix Previous Litter Counts And Add Missing Kit Records

Correct an older litter when the saved total counts and the actual kit records do not match, including adding missing live or deceased kit records without starting the litter over.

Step-By-Step Guide
Fix the litter totals first
The Add Kit buttons follow the litter totals. If the totals are too low, the buttons can stay disabled even when you know a kit record is missing.
If the litter is in Current Litters, open it directly from Litters. If the litter is in Previous Litters, open Previous Litters first, then use View Details on that litter before choosing Edit Litter.
- You should see the litter details form with fields for Total Born and Total Died.
- If the litter is no longer in the current list, switch to Previous Litters and use View Details to reach the same litter detail screen before editing it.
Adjust Total Born and Total Died so they match what the litter should show after your correction, then save or continue through the reconciliation flow if prompted.
- Increase Total Born when a live or deceased kit record is missing entirely.
- Increase Total Died when you need room to add a missing deceased kit record.
- Decrease Total Died only if you are restoring a kit that should be live instead of deceased.
- If the app asks you to reconcile live versus deceased kits, finish that review instead of backing out. It is keeping the litter counts and records aligned.

Add the missing kit records from Manage Kits
Once the totals are correct, use the litter tools to add the actual kit records that were missing.
Return to the litter and use the Manage Kits area.
- You should see + Live Kit and + Deceased Kit buttons near the Manage Kits heading.
Click + Live Kit for a missing live kit or + Deceased Kit for a missing deceased kit.
- A new blank kit row should appear in the matching live or deceased section for that litter.
- If either button is disabled and says all expected kit records already exist, go back to Edit Litter and adjust the totals first.
Add names, sex, color, ear tattoo, or notes for the new kit record if you know them.
- It is okay to save a partial kit record now and improve it later.
- For older litters, adding the record is more important than waiting until every field is known.
- The litter now has the missing kit records saved in the correct live or deceased section.
Double-check the corrected litter
This keeps the historical litter record believable before you leave the page.
Confirm the live kit count, deceased kit count, and visible records all tell the same story.
- The litter totals and the Manage Kits records should no longer disagree in an obvious way.
If the new live kits still need starter names, use Theme (optional) and Auto-Name in Manage Kits, or leave them unnamed until you are ready.
- Auto-Name is only for live kits, so deceased kit records may stay more minimal if that fits your historical notes.
- The previous litter is corrected and ready to stay as a reliable historical record.

Those buttons follow the litter totals. If the app thinks all expected kit records already exist, edit the litter totals first so the expected count matches the correction you need to make.
How do I add a kit back after I accidentally deleted it in Manage Kits?
Open the litter, correct Total Born or Total Died if needed, then return to Manage Kits. If the kit record does not automatically show back up, use + Live Kit or + Deceased Kit to recreate the record. Once the new record is there, add back any details you know for that kit.
Why did the weaning date clear when I restored a deceased kit?
That is expected. Restoring a deceased kit makes the litter active again, so Rabbitry Run clears the weaning date and reopens the litter. After you finish correcting the live kit and promote it if needed, you can set the weaning date again.
