Track the full litter lifecycle from birth to graduation, including kit counts, weights, notes, and promotion to grow-outs or keepers.
Log a kindling from the breeding record, manage the resulting litter from the Litters section, and promote kits into grow-outs without losing earlier history.

Step-By-Step Guide
Log the kindling from the breeding record
The litter starts in Breedings after the breeding has already been recorded. You do not create a brand-new litter directly from the Litters tab.
Open Breedings from the sidebar or mobile menu.
- You should see the breeding planner with your saved breeding records.
Find the saved breeding that produced the litter and open the action used to record the kindling.
- If the breeding is missing, go back and make sure the breeding was saved first. The litter workflow depends on that breeding record.
Enter the kindling date and the litter counts from the breeding workflow, then save.
- Enter born-alive and born-dead counts carefully.
- Save the kindling from the breeding record so the litter can be created automatically.
- Do not start over in Litters to make a disconnected record if the breeding already exists.
After saving the kindling, check that the breeding now links to the litter and that the litter appears in Litters.
- You should now have a litter created from the breeding, and it should be visible in the Litters section.
- The kindling is logged correctly, and the litter now exists as a connected record created from the breeding.
Manage the litter from the Litters section
Once the kindling has been logged, the Litters section becomes the home for kit information, edits, weights, and weaning details.
Open Litters from the sidebar or mobile menu, then open the litter that was just created.
- You should see the litter detail view with kits, counts, or actions related to kit management.
Use the litter view to add kit information, make edits, set the weaning date, and keep the litter details current.
- You do not need every kit detail on day one.
- It is better to save partial but accurate information than complete but guessed information.
- Add names, tattoos, sex, color, notes, and other kit details as they become clear.
- Use the litter fields to keep the weaning date and litter-level details current.
Inside Manage Kits, you can type an optional theme into Theme (optional), then click Auto-Name to generate name ideas for the live kits in that litter.
- Suggested names should populate for the kits in the Manage Kits area so you can review and keep or edit them before saving further changes.
- Auto-Name helps with suggestions, but you should still confirm the names fit the litter before leaving the screen.
Use the litter tools for litter weights or kit weights instead of keeping growth notes somewhere else.
- Weight entries should be tied back to the litter or kits you are updating.
- The Litters section now holds the ongoing kit, weight, and milestone information for that litter.
Promote kits when they are ready
This is how you keep growth history instead of re-entering the same rabbit later by hand.
When a kit is ready to become a full rabbit record, use the Promote to Grow-Out action designed for that transition.
- Do not create a brand-new rabbit manually if the kit already exists inside the litter.
After promotion, open the Rabbits tab on the left sidebar, go to the Grow-Outs sub-tab and confirm the identity and record history carried over the way you expected.
- The promoted rabbit should now exist in Rabbits under the Grow-Outs sub-tab as its own record.
- Your litter history stays connected to the full rabbit records that grow out of it.
You're Done When
- The breeding now shows the logged kindling and linked litter.
- Kit details, weights, and weaning information are saved inside the Litters workflow.
- Promoted kits appear in Rabbits under Grow-Outs without losing earlier history.
