Customize Your Experience And Save It Correctly
Break down the Profile customization controls so you know what each group changes and why Save Profile & Preferences matters.
Use the Customize Your Experience section in Profile confidently so you can tailor the app without wondering which toggles matter or why changes did not stick.
10-15 minutes
Desktop: Open Profile from the left sidebar, then scroll to Customize Your Experience.
Mobile: Tap the menu button, tap Profile, then scroll to Customize Your Experience.
- Plan to review the section in Profile all the way through before saving.
- Remember that your changes do not fully save until you click Save Profile & Preferences.
Overview
- Customize Your Experience is where you choose a quick-start preset, show or hide major navigation areas, control dashboard widgets, pick rabbit profile tabs, and set the Quick Action Button.
When To Use
- You want Rabbitry Run to match the type of breeding program and workflow you actually use.
Step-By-Step Guide
Open the customization area and save deliberately
This section lives in Profile, not Settings.
Open Profile from the sidebar or mobile menu, then scroll to Customize Your Experience.
- You should see the Customize Your Experience card inside Rabbitry Profile.
Any time you change a preset or toggle in this section, plan to finish by clicking Save Profile & Preferences at the bottom of the page.
- If you leave without clicking Save Profile & Preferences, your changes may not stay.
- You are in the correct section and you know the final save step matters.
Use each customization group for the right job
Each group controls a different part of the app experience.
Choose Mixed / General, Show Breeding, Meat Production, or Pet / Hobby when you want Rabbitry Run to apply a starting layout for that type of rabbitry.
- A preset changes several settings at once, so review the sections below after applying it.
Turn Navigation items on or off when you want sidebar sections such as Breeding, Litters, Harvest, Shows, Reports, Cages, Inventory, Sales / Contacts, or Storefront visible or hidden.
- The Navigation group should list the major app areas you can keep visible in your layout.
Turn Dashboard Widgets on or off for cards such as Herd Overview, Kindling Countdown, Yield Predictor, Next Show, Recent Wins, Birthdays, Pinned Items, Upcoming Tasks, and Quick Notes.
- This section affects what appears on Dashboard, not whether the underlying data exists.
Choose which rabbit-profile sections stay visible, such as Weights, Health, Grooming, Shows, Litters, Type Log, Genetics, Registration, and Document Vault.
- The Rabbit Profile Tabs group should list the rabbit-level sections you can toggle.
Turn the Quick Action Button on or off, then choose up to 6 quick actions such as Add Rabbit, Plan Breeding, Log Weight, Add Task, Log Sale, Scan Pedigree, Scan QR, Log Purchase, Add Contact, Harvest, or Compare Relatedness.
- If you try to select more than 6 quick actions, the app will stop you.
Use Saved Layouts and Save Current after naming a layout when you want to swap between setups like show season and off season.
- Saved Layouts help if you routinely switch between different operating styles.
- You now know what each customization group controls.
Save and confirm the changes
This is the step that makes the customization stick.
Scroll to the bottom of Profile and click Save Profile & Preferences after finishing your changes.
- Your profile and preference changes should save instead of reverting when you leave the page.
Open the sidebar, dashboard, or a rabbit profile afterward and confirm the visible sections now match what you selected.
- If the layout still looks old, return to Profile and make sure you actually clicked Save Profile & Preferences after the last change.
- Your custom layout is now saved and should match the choices you made.
You're Done When
- You know what Quick Start Preset, Navigation, Dashboard Widgets, Rabbit Profile Tabs, Quick Action Button, and Saved Layouts each control.
- You know Save Profile & Preferences is required to keep changes.
- You can hide or show features without assuming their data was deleted.
Common Mistakes
- Turning a toggle on or off and leaving the page without clicking Save Profile & Preferences.
- Using a preset and forgetting it changes several settings at once.
- Hiding a section and then assuming the data itself was deleted.
