Run The Barn Day To Day5 minutes

Write Notes, Checklists, And Templates On The Dashboard

Keep formatted notes and tickable checklists, organize them with search, pins and labels, link them to rabbits and litters, and start new notes from templates.

What This Helps You Do

Keep barn notes and checklists in one private place, find them quickly, and see the ones that belong to a rabbit, litter, breeding or project on that record.

Dashboard → Notes

Before You Start
  • Notes are private to your account. They are not shown on your Storefront or in Marketplace.
  • Notes work offline. Changes made without a connection are saved on the device and sync when you reconnect.

Overview

  • The Notes tab on the Dashboard holds all of your notes. The Quick Notes widget on the Overview tab shows one of them, so a checklist or reminder stays in view all day.

When To Use

  • You want a barn checklist, a show packing list, a breeding plan or any free-form note you can format, tick off and find again.

Step-By-Step Guide

1

Write and format a note

Notes support headings, lists, checklists and links.

1.1 Open Notes

Open the Dashboard and choose the Notes tab. Add an optional title, write in the note area, then choose Save Note.

1.2 Format the text

Use the formatting toolbar for Bold, Italic, Underline, Strikethrough, Heading, Subheading, Bulleted list, Numbered list, Checklist, Link, Divider, text color and highlight. On a phone, open More formatting for the rest of the options.

1.3 Tick checklist items

Tick a checklist item right in the note; the tick saves on its own. Use Uncheck all to reset a checklist you reuse, such as a weekly barn list.

You Should Now Have
  • Your note is saved and shows its formatting and checklist ticks after a reload.
2

Organize and find notes

Search, sort, pin and label as your list grows.

2.1 Search and sort

Use Search notes to find words in titles, text and labels. Sort notes by Manual order, Recently updated, Recently created or Title (A–Z).

2.2 Pin, label and duplicate

Pin a note to keep it at the top under Pinned. Use Labels to tag notes, then Filter by label. Duplicate copies a note as a starting point.

2.3 Rearrange by hand

To drag notes into your own order, choose Manual order and clear the search and labels first.

2.4 Choose a layout

On a wide screen, choose Side by side to see the list next to the open note, or List for one column. Each device remembers its own choice.

2.5 Show a note on the Dashboard

Choose Show in Quick Notes on a note. It then shows Shown on Dashboard, and the Quick Notes widget on the Overview tab displays it with live checkboxes.

You Should Now Have
  • The notes you use most are easy to find, and one is visible on the Dashboard.
3

Link notes to records

A linked note appears on the record it is about.

3.1 Add links

Open Links on a note and search rabbits, litters, breedings or projects to link them.

3.2 Find linked notes on the record

A rabbit profile, litter details, the breeding details dialog and a project Overview show a Linked notes panel. Choose a note title there to open it.

Why This Step Matters
  • If a linked record is deleted, the link shows Removed record and the note itself is kept.
You Should Now Have
  • Notes about a rabbit, litter, breeding or project are one click away from that record.
4

Use templates

Start common notes without retyping them.

4.1 Start from a template

Choose New from template… and pick a built-in template, such as Weekly Barn Checklist, Show Preparation or Breeding Plan, or one of your templates.

4.2 Save your own template

Choose Save as template on any note, give it a name, then Save template. New notes from it start with every checklist item unchecked, and editing the original note later does not change the template.

Why This Step Matters
  • You can keep up to 30 templates. Deleting a template does not affect notes made from it.
You Should Now Have
  • Your regular checklists start from a template with one click.

You're Done When

  • Your note keeps its formatting and checklist ticks after a reload and on your other devices.
  • A linked note appears in Linked notes on the rabbit, litter, breeding or project.
  • Quick Notes on the Overview tab shows the note you chose.

Common Mistakes

  • Trying to drag notes while a search, label filter or another sort is active. Switch to Manual order and clear them first.
  • Expecting a template to update when you edit the note it was saved from.

If Something Still Looks Wrong

What does “This note changed elsewhere” mean?

The note was edited on another device while you were editing it. Choose Keep my changes, Use incoming note, or Keep both to save your version as a separate note. Your draft is kept until you choose.

Why can I not edit a note on the Notes page?

Quick Notes on the Overview tab has unsaved or syncing changes to the same note. Save or resolve them in Quick Notes, then edit the note on the Notes page.

My note says it is waiting to sync.

It is saved on this device and will sync when you are back online. If cloud sync failed, use Retry cloud sync; your draft stays on the device.

FAQ

Does Reset Settings delete my notes?

No. Notes and your saved templates are kept when you reset settings.

Can I undo a deleted note?

No. Deleting a note cannot be undone, so the app asks you to confirm first.

When To Contact Support

  • A note keeps showing a sync error after you reconnect and choose Retry cloud sync.
  • Notes that were on the Dashboard before an update are missing.

Still Stuck?

If the guide got you close but the app still does not match what this tutorial says should happen, contact support and mention the article title, the exact step where you got stuck, and what you saw instead.
