Overview
- Use an observation for something quick you noticed and a case when the concern needs ongoing progress notes, state changes, outcomes, or supporting documents.
- Treatments, doses, routine-care plans, quarantines, sanitation work, checklists, incidents, losses, costs, and saved reports remain private records with their own histories.
- Rabbitry Run organizes owner-entered records. It does not diagnose conditions, prescribe care, or establish that a reported pattern caused a health concern.
When To Use
- You notice a symptom or behavior change in one rabbit, several rabbits, or one litter.
- You want to follow a concern from first notice through monitoring, recovery, or a recorded outcome.

Open Health and choose Quick Observation for fast logging or Start Health Case for an ongoing concern.

Search by name, barn name, tattoo, breed, or color, or filter rabbits by one of your Rabbit List sections. Managed rabbits appear first; use Include inactive records for sold, deceased, or ancestor records.

Select one or more rabbits, or switch Who is this about? and select exactly one litter. Rabbit and litter selections cannot be mixed.

Record what you noticed, its severity, and the date. For cases, choose Symptom only, Suspected condition, Recorded as confirmed, or Cause not known.

Open a case to add progress updates, change severity or state, link a recurrence, resolve or reopen it, and optionally attach private images or PDFs.

Use Treatments, Medications, and Preventative Care to save products and instructions from your records, generate scheduled work, record actual doses, and review advisory withdrawal periods.

Use Quarantine and Biosecurity to schedule monitoring, save housing movements, complete sanitation or protocol work, and confirm or dismiss possible shared recorded context without treating it as a diagnosis or cause.

Open Reports, choose a report section, and use Show filters on mobile when you need to change the reporting period, records included, subject, classification, housing, lineage, loss, or project scope.

Use Mortality & Loss to add details to an automatically created loss record, Costs to link an eligible health cost while keeping purchases separate from medication and supplies used, and Exports & Archive to create a local PDF or filtered CSV.

Attachments and saved private reports stay private. PDF attachments are excluded from report contents, and images appear only when you explicitly select them for that report.

Common Mistakes
- Choosing Recorded as confirmed when the saved information is only suspected. Choose the label that matches what is actually in your records.
- Expecting a litter health or quarantine record to automatically change the doe or each rabbit. Litter warnings remain attached to the litter and its grow-out context.
- Treating a possible shared pattern or insight as a diagnosis, prediction, or cause. These cards only describe patterns in the records you saved.
- Adding a medication inventory link without a compatible unit conversion. Automatic inventory deduction stays disabled until the conversion is configured.
- Combining cash purchases and consumed inventory into one health-cost total. Reports intentionally keep those two views separate.
- Deleting earlier medication or withdrawal entries after starting a treatment. Those entries remain intact until you explicitly convert them and still participate in advisory warnings.
