- A buyer contact when you want buyer history.
- A harvest batch and freezer item when entering a traceable meat sale.
Overview
- Sales can use first-class product lines without replacing historical Rabbit, Meat, Pelt, Wool, or Other records.
- Only the existing linked meat/freezer sale workflow automatically reduces inventory. Parts, feed, manure, pelts, wool, and other products do not automatically deplete generalized inventory.
When To Use
- You need a transaction and revenue record for rabbits or production-related products and by-products.
Step-By-Step Guide
Step 1
Follow this action exactly in the Track Product And By-Product Sales workflow.
Open Add Sale and choose the item type first: Rabbit, Meat, Pelt, Parts, Wool, Feed, Manure, or Other.
- The page should remain in the same workflow and be ready for the next step.
- You should be ready to continue to the next step.
Step 2
Enter a free-form title. Parts suggestions such as feet, ears, heads, organs, raw hides, and tanned hides are starting points, not restrictions.
- The page should remain in the same workflow and be ready for the next step.
- You should be ready to continue to the next step.
Step 3
For meat sold from freezer inventory, enter the weight, choose the freezer item, and select one attributable source batch when traceable stock is available.
- The page should remain in the same workflow and be ready for the next step.
- You should be ready to continue to the next step.
Step 4
For non-meat products, save the sale without expecting automatic inventory depletion. Keep separate operational inventory records when needed.
- The page should remain in the same workflow and be ready for the next step.
- You should be ready to continue to the next step.
Step 5
Use Sales and Reports product-line summaries to review gross revenue, sale count, recorded units or weight, and average transaction value. Overall sales totals remain the reconciliation source.
- Every transaction appears under the correct product line and the product-line breakdown reconciles to the unchanged overall sales total.
- Every transaction appears under the correct product line and the product-line breakdown reconciles to the unchanged overall sales total.
You're Done When
- Every transaction appears under the correct product line and the product-line breakdown reconciles to the unchanged overall sales total.
Common Mistakes
- Choosing Other when a first-class product type exists.
- Expecting a parts, feed, or manure sale to reduce inventory automatically.
- Assigning one harvest batch to a meat transaction that spans multiple lots.
If Something Still Looks Wrong
Why is a source batch required for this meat sale?
Traceable freezer stock is attributable to a batch. Split a transaction into separate sale lines if it uses more than one lot.
Why do recorded units differ between product lines?
Units and weights are summarized only when recorded and are not combined across incompatible measurements.
