- A buyer contact.
- Optional rabbit, sale, inventory, harvest-batch, or storefront-listing context if you want the reservation linked.
Overview
- Reservations are private breeder-created records. They do not publish a public reservation, reduce inventory, or change storefront availability.
When To Use
- A buyer has asked you to hold a rabbit, product, order, or meat item and you need a visible pickup and follow-up record.
Step-By-Step Guide
Step 1
Follow this action exactly in the Manage Reservations And Pickup Fulfillment workflow.
Open Fulfillment and create a reservation from the queue or a supported buyer, sale, inventory, or listing entry point.
- The page should remain in the same workflow and be ready for the next step.
- You should be ready to continue to the next step.
Step 2
Choose the buyer, enter a useful title, and optionally link rabbits, a sale, an inventory item, a harvest batch, or a storefront listing.
- The page should remain in the same workflow and be ready for the next step.
- You should be ready to continue to the next step.
Step 3
Add an optional pickup start and end, pickup instructions, deposit note, payment note, and internal notes. The end cannot be earlier than the start.
- The page should remain in the same workflow and be ready for the next step.
- You should be ready to continue to the next step.
Step 4
Move the reservation through draft, reserved, confirmed, fulfilled, cancelled, or expired. Every explicit status change is retained in the timeline; overdue is derived and never silently changes status.

- You should be ready to continue to the next step.
Step 5
Use Create linked sale when the transaction is ready. Save through the existing sale workflow, then decide whether to mark the reservation fulfilled.
- The fulfillment queue shows the buyer, linked context, pickup state, and immutable status history without changing inventory on its own.

You're Done When
- The fulfillment queue shows the buyer, linked context, pickup state, and immutable status history without changing inventory on its own.
Common Mistakes
- Using a reservation as proof that storefront inventory was held.
- Expecting a reservation to deplete freezer or non-meat inventory.
- Setting a pickup end before its start.
If Something Still Looks Wrong
Why is a reservation marked overdue?
An open reservation is overdue when its pickup start is in the past. Edit the pickup window or explicitly change the status; Rabbitry Run does not expire it automatically.
Why did creating a linked sale not reduce inventory?
Inventory changes only occur when the existing sale workflow has a valid inventory link and quantity or weight. The reservation itself never changes stock.
